Tradition has been broken, I’ve spent my very first Christmas down south with the other half instead of up in the motherland with my family.
Whilst its sad not to be at “home”, it was lovely to spend Christmas with the other half in one another’s company, eating far too much fine food and of course watching the obligatory Christmas Doctor Who episode!
Totally stuffed. We ate;
- Home made breaded mushrooms for starter with home made garlic mayo. - Goose (from the local butchers) with a rum & apple stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnip, turnip, chipolatas….. And sprouts done with bacon & chestnuts ( I avoided the broccoli) - Home made trifle, with lots of sherry
I’m retiring to the couch and it may be sometime before I move again.
