Got a bit of good news as I finally managed to get on the train this morning.
First of all… getting on the train is a major achievement given all the travel chaos of late. Not that it was a particularly easy task as we were sent to the wrong platform twice, then it was a mad dash when the announced the platform for the 3rd time near 20mins late…
Secondly, the dark cloud that has been hanging over me ever since a certain “human being” (and I use that term rather loosely here) decided to blast my blog and twitter stream over the national press, has finally been lifted. Common sense has prevailed and I now go home to Dundee for Christmas breathing a sigh of relief and am finally able to relax after a month and a half of sheer hell.
Thus, I’m going to celebrate on the train.
Here’s to all of you who have supported me through this incredibly shit time in my life. I’ve had a shit few months with my partner’s brain haemorrhage, my grandfather’s death and the incident in the national press - but my online network, colleagues… friends have been just amazing.
Totally amazing, and I lift a glass to all of you :)
I’d popped out to post some mail, which gave me an excellent chance to test out my new ice grips on my boots (courtesy of Yaktrax ) which meant that I didn’t spend any time falling on my ass and managed to get back to the house relatively unscathed… just cold!
It’s such a strange sight seeing Stoke Newington covered in snow… everything is oh so quiet!
Luckily I had returned from my trip to the Royal Mail Sorting Office and had gotten home safely, without incident, no slips, no falls. I’d settled down in my warm house and heard a massive clap of thunder…
Seconds later I peeped out of my window and was greeted to this sight…
Oh… it’s snowing….
Just a wee bit…
I’m glad that I’ve planned a weekend at home to finish up domestics, packing and wrapping Christmas presents!
Got fantastic seats in the Directors Area at Craven Cottage thanks to Tim’s brother to see the Fulham game! Wrapped up to the nines after a quick drink in the Directors lounge… Time to brave the cold weather and watch Fulham vs Sunderland.
